What Flight Escort means

A lot of dogs already have a new home in Germany or in an other country - the reason for sitting in the animal shelter Rhodes is, that they´re only waiting for a flight escort!

Maybe they´re exactly waiting for you!?

However, now we have as a first step a few explanations what "flight escort" means:

Somebody wants to give a dog or cat from Rhodes a new home, but he isn´t on-site of the island to take him away, we have a problem - Animals can´t fly alone!

They couldn´t send like baggage, because they need a person who takes them away! Furthermore after new regulations, only one animal per passenger are allowed to the flight.

Therefore the appeal to you, be flight escort!

How it looks like?

The local animal welfare society (here it is RAWS) announced
a cat or a dog on your name at your airline.
>>STOP!<< You can read continue: You have no costs!!!

Only your flight data are needed therefor: Your name, the flight number, the day of the return flight, the name of your airline and the name of the tour operator, like TUI, Neckermann, altours etc.

Thereupon the animal welfare society reserved the cargo hold for the animal on your name and regulate all further formalities.

You really haven´t bevome costs und nennenswerter Aufwand!

Before your takeoff, the cat or dog will be brought in a flight box directly to the check in at the airport. There the animal assistance helps you with the Check-In and pays the due for the "more luggage". Then you get all needed papers like the inoculation passport, because all of the animals are inoculated and chiped. At the goal airport, after you took your luggage & the box with the animal in receipt, someone waits for you to takes over the animal.

Information desk at the Mandraki habour

In the main season you can also get information at the information desk at the mandraki habour.

You will find the desk in front of the grandmaster garden, on the way to the old town, by the painter and souvenir shops.

Sadly the RAWS had not enough peoples, for information. So there couldn´t be anybody all of the time.
